Spreading Christmas Joy with MCF 为民工子弟基金会传播圣诞快乐

Raising globally competent and compassionate leaders with a servant’s heart is one of the YCIS Beijing's core principles and it is reflected in our school daily activities. Around this time of the year, in fact, this value is embraced even more through charitable activities which involved parents, students as well as members of our academic team such as the Christmas Wish Tree Project, which is organised by the school’s Parent Organisation (PO). 

培养有国际竞争力、能共情、有公仆心的领导者不仅是北京耀中原则的重要组成部分，同时也反映在我们的日常活动中。毫无例外的在每年的这个时候，学校的家长委员会会组织一些慈善活动，比如家长、学生和我们的学术团队都会参与进来的“圣诞愿望树计划”，来体现这种价值观。

“Christmas Wish Tree Project has been an annual PO Charity event for many years. Our intention is to give love and hope to children in need as a community during the special season of Christmas.” asserted PO President, Jenny Chang.  

“圣诞愿望树计划作为年度家长委员会慈善活动已经很多年了。我们的目的是在圣诞节这个特别的节日里，把爱和希望传播给那些需要帮助的儿童。家长委员会主席Jenny Chang宣称。 

On Monday, December 9th, the PO with the support of our academic team was able to do just that when we received a visit from boys and girls from the Migrant Children’s Foundation.

12月9日，星期一，民工子弟基金会的孩子们受邀来到我校，在我们学术团队的支持下，家长委员会做到了这一点。

The PO worked in collaboration with students who donated gifts on Santa Collection Day and the academic team which was glad to organize activities for our guests on the day of the visit. The activities kicked off with a "Get to Know Each Other" game which was a fantastic ice-breaker for both YCIS Beijing students and their MCF counterparts.

家长委员会与捐赠圣诞礼物的学生和在参观当天为我们的客人组织活动的学术团队合作。活动以“互相认识”游戏开始，这对北京耀中的学生和民工子弟基金会的学生来说都是一个很好的开场白。

The importance of connecting with people from all backgrounds was emphasized by Pastoral Care Coordinator, Casey Fanning who said “We strongly encourage our students to cross-cultural borders that are not just based on nationality, but also socio-economic and circumstantial.”

德育主管Casey Fanning强调了与来自不同背景的人建立联系的重要性。她说：“我们强烈鼓励我们的学生跨越文化边界，不仅基于国籍，还包括社会经济和环境因素。”

After an activity-filled day in our Year 5 and Year 6 Learning Communities there was one last surprise which is everybody’s favourite activity during Christmas – receiving gifts from Santa Claus! Every student from the foundation walked away with a present. All gifts were received with great excitement and appreciation that will hopefully make this their best Christmas. 

我们五年级和六年级的学生度过了充实的一天。活动最后有一个惊喜，这是大家在圣诞节最喜欢的活动——收到圣诞老人的礼物！基金会的每个学生都满怀兴奋和感激的收到了一份礼物。希望这会是他们最好的圣诞节。
